How to Upload / Download documents to / from Charge Stations

The EVC-net allows for documents to be either retrieved from or sent to Charge Stations within your network. By doing so, Providers can either obtain data indicating a Charge Station’s performance (Get Diagnostics) or send updates to a Charge Station to alter its behavior, display or even its software as a whole.

Although these buttons will always be found in the same place, namely at the Station’s dashboard.

What matters, however, is the mode of communication by which a Charge Station is connected to the platform. We distinguish two different methods of communication:

  • Internal network communication: this refers to Stations that are transmitting data to our platform via LMS-provided SIM cards
  • External network Communication: this refers to all other methods of data transmission, which entails but is not limited to:
    • LAN
    • WLAN
    • Third-Party SIM-cards
    • Public Networks
    • Etc.

Internal Network

As of April release, 2.42, FTPS server is available for secure file exchange between EVC-net and your Charging Station. Depending on your station’s settings you can choose either FTP or FTPS.

External Network

  1. Select the OCPP-Command that is relevant to your situation; either the Get Diagnostics and Update Firmware are applicable to this guide.
  1. Choose FTP or FTPS
    • Please remember to take your charging station’s configuration into account when deciding which server to select.
  1. (Optional) Update FTP/FTPS end point
    • If your Charger does not already contain the (correct) end point, please insert your own endpoint if the station is hosted on an external network. Reminder; this connection will be your own responsibility, LMS has no means of influencing the endpoint settings of the protocol.
  1. Verify whether you have correctly set up the charging station by checking the station’s status in the Service Report
