Supported Devices

Supported Protocols

  • OCPP 1.6: Main form of communication to charge points.
  • LMS-protocol: Communication with the backoffice, Management Interface and Ecotap controllers.
  • Modbus RTU: Main form of communication with energy meters.
  • Modbus TCP: Alternative form of communication with energy meters.
  • Supervisor protocol: (deprecated!): Custom implemented protocol for the Ecotap-supervisor to control only the ecotap-master.
  • EVBox g2 & g3 support (In development)

Load balancing Options

  • Balance a grid based on Current (Default), Active Power or Apparent Power.
  • Support multiple grids per Edge.
  • Support for grids within grids.
  • Support for grids to exist over multiple Edges (Multiple locations load balancing in real time).
  • Support for energy meters in grids (or subgrids).
  • Flexible real-time insight in the MI.
  • Control Grids externally using the API.
  • Support for Solar charging.
  • Support for Flexible opening hours. (Dynamic limits)

Device Management

  • Maximum number of Charging stations per Edge: 100.
  • Maximum number of Connectors Per Edge: As many connectors as the 100 chargepoints have.
  • Possibility to connect multiple Edge devices together for indefinite large grids.
  • Edge will reconfigure chargepoints automatically for optimal use in load balancing. no manual reconfiguration needed
  • Offline management / guaranteed uptime:
  • Edge has its own card database for offline authorization of all connected charge points.
  • Edge can manage transactions when offline and later sync them to the backoffice.
  • Charge points remain manageable from the backoffice (Soft/hard reset, block/unblock, remote Start/stop transactions, retrieve status, Request and change Parameters, retrieve diagnostics, Upload new firmware)
  • The previously mentioned control options on the charge points are accessible from within Edge using the management interface.
