Information about eMSP identity fraud mitigation

We are experiencing an increasing number of fraud cases on our eMSP platform services due to identity fraud.

Over the past year, this has resulted in many fraudulent cases, causing damages up to €25,000 per individual case. Most of these cases involve non-corresponding or fake e-mails, names, addresses, bank details, and VAT registrations.

To mitigate fraudulent activities and financial risks for you as a provider and for Last Mile Solutions, we will be implementing the following measures:

  • Starting Thursday 1 May 2025, we will be discontinuing the feature that allows end-users to be automatically validated after registration. As a result, verification of the authenticity of new registrations is necessary before activation of their accounts.
  • eMSP Partners on our platform are responsible for verifying and validating their end-users. We want to remind you that you are also jointly responsible for any financial damage caused by fraudulent activity when the identity of a user is not verified.

How do you verify new customers?

  1. When a new customer submits a registration request, you will receive a notification on the platform.
  2. By clicking the notification, you can review the customer’s personal information.
  3. After verifying this, you can approve the new customer and activate their account.

This additional step aligns with Know Your Customer requirements and ensures compliance with Anti-Money Laundering regulations. It will also prohibit many malicious registrations and transactions.

To make the acceptance of new customers more convenient, we will implement automated identity checks in the near future.
