Below you can find more information about the AFIR and TIRUERT scheme, and what the new AFIREV codes mean for your business. We will update this page frequently.
What is AFIR?
The Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) is designed to ease uptake, interoperability, and payment for alternative fuels across the EU. As of April 2025, AFIR has required all CPOs, who have public charging stations, to share both static and dynamic location data with the National Access Points
What will the new AFIREV operator identifier code be used for?
We will use it for reporting static (e.g. address of charge point), dynamic (e.g. active) and dynamic session (e.g. how much charge was supplied) data to Qualicharge. Qualicharge will, in-turn, provide this data to the CarbuRe platform for the TIRUERT incentive. We intend to start reporting data on your behalf by 30 June 2025.
Will the new AFIREV code affect anything else?
To remain compliant with the AFIR directive, the EVSE-IDs will need changing to adopt the new AFIREV operator identifier, and we are working on a process to facilitate that.
How will the new AFIREV codes be used?
- Last Mile Solutions will use the new AFIREV codes for reporting to Qualicharge.
- For all new charging stations, the new AFIREV code will be used.
- For already existing stations, Last Mile Solutions will record the new codes and the previous LMS codes, on EVC-net.
