How To Add A New Charge Card

This post is also available in: Français

You can add charge cards to EVC-net manually, one by one. We strongly advise to only add cards that comply with our charge card standard, MiFARE Classic 1k 7-byte UID (=unique ID) which means that the internal RFID “ID” has at least 14 digits.

You are allowed to add older 4-byte UID RFID cards (= less than 8 digits) if they will be used only for private charge points and not for roaming. For example a company that wants to use their internal chip cards for charging at their private charge points at their location. These internal chip cards, however, cannot then be used at roaming stations as we cannot guarantee the uniqueness of the ID in the roaming network and thus causing billing issues.

What do you need to get started?

  • System User account in EVC-net
  • UID of the charge card
  • External ID of the charge card (if available)

Create a New Charge Card

  1. Log in to your EVC-net
  2. Click on Cards > New
  3. Select the User Group you want to add the card under
  4. Select Type of the charge card: RFID
  5. Select Action type: User
  6. Select Card Provider:
    • LMS if charge card was ordered from LMS
    • Other if charge card was ordered externally
  7. Fill in External card ID
    • If no external ID is present on the charge card:
      • create a unique ID or
      • leave the field empty and EVC-net will generate one
  8. Fill in Internal card ID
  9. Add Reference or Cost center number card if applicable
  10. If you want to allow Roaming on this charge card, tick: “Yes, the owner of the card approves to the fact that his/her card can also be used at charge points of other providers. (not compulsory)”
  11. Click on Save

Only allow roaming on charge cards that comply with our charge card standard, MiFARE Classic 1k 7-byte UID and are not hosted on any other platform besides EVC-net.
